I had the time of my life!
I haven't enjoyed myself this much fishing since I was in the Bayou. I mean that and thank you.
I am seriously planning a trip in April for Sturgeon and September and November for Salmon. I may even throw one on for some fly fishing.
Thank you for everything and will be seeing Ken soon.

This is Tuyen "twin" Ta, went fishing with the Pirate, and all though we didn't land as many as we have liked, the experience was awesome!!!! Just wanted to let him know we had a wonderful time and an unforgettable experience. "kudos to the pirate" for keeping a bunch of youngsters in line.... :) I definetly will be back and truly am grateful for the effort!!!!!! Thanks a million ARRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want the latest "outfitter's shiny", get a different guide. But if you want real knowledge and experience of the river and fish, and a fishing friend on the river, get the Pirate. The day I had on the Sacramento River with the Pirate on August 8, 2007 was an experience of a lifetime. A hard working guide, for you guys that want to be sure you get your money's worth. But if you want to fish (and, by the way, to catch big fish!), but also to appreciate the likes of black tail deer, osprey, kingfisher and egret) and to share an appreciation for them with a guy who is as much a part of the river as they are, see the Pirate. Just hope he's got a day open for me another time, since I can't imagine coming to northern California without fishing with him! Peace. Alan.

The River Pirate Ken is GREAT! My son, Tyler, and I went trout fishing with Ken on April 28th for my birthday. Ken worked really hard to put us on some nice fish. We had a wonderful time and hope to come back in the fall to try some salmon fishing as well. Thanks for the memories River Pirate.

Hollo Pirate! I spent two days with you last April sturgeon fishing during a nasty cold front. I thouroughly enjoyed our time together and am looking for another oppertunity to visit you for a return trip. Please contact me and let me know the best time of year to come. Last fall I started guiding for trout and smallmouth on the New River in West Virginia, that season keeps me quite busy from June thru October.

Ken,
Dave and I enjoyed our adventure with you. It was a great trip and we appreciate your sense of humor and effort to get us into the fish. Even though we picked a day to fish with you that the fish were not cooperating, your endurance to get us fish was unmatched by I believe anyone else on the river. We were one of the first boats on the river and one of the last off. If it were not for your extraordinary work ethic and perseverance Dave would not have hooked into a personal best Salmon at 42 pounds it made the day to see him hook up and land the fish. And the relief on your face when the fish was on the deck showed how much your customers/friends mean to you. Thank you for making our first trip with you a memorable one.

My son Alex and I had an outstanding fishing experience with Ken and Dallas two weeks ago. We plied the Sac that day with intensity and determination. For the day we saw only one small jack salmon in anyone else's bag. About two in the afternoon we hooked onto a 30 pound buck. Alex had a great time fighting the fish and landed it after about 20 minutes. We have some great pics of the Pirate, Dallas, and Alex...plus a great pic of me holding the salmon. [Even though I didn't do anything but snap the camera!!!].
This was actually my second time with the Pirate...In June I traveled with Rudy and John... Then we caught bass and shad... Again an outstanding experience with the Pirate and Dallas.
Without any question, we will all be back!

My son Nicky and I went out with Ken for four days on the Sac. If we had had any more fun, we would have been arrested!! Both caught fish when almost nobody else on the river was -- we're coming back again for the best fishing, guiding and companionship ever -- if you have a kid who likes fishing, this is the guy. Nicky hasn't stopped talking about the Pirate. Now we're dreaming of sturgeon...
